At Hevadent, we have our own dental laboratory, where prosthetic work is made individually, according to each patient's particulars and needs. The laboratory is coordinated by Georgeta Murgea, dental technician, senior grade (tehnician principal). The dentists and the dental technicians work together on the prosthetic restorations.
The clinic's list has no laboratory tariffs section: the prices under prosthetic treatment are per-unit prices for the finished restoration, and the work of making it is covered by them. What is added separately are the procedures with rows of their own, cementation for instance, 75 lei, or removing an existing restoration, 150 lei. Ask for the estimate at the consultation, so that you see every row that applies to your case.
Who makes my restoration
Prosthetic restorations are made both in Hevadent's own dental laboratory and in collaboration with other specialised laboratories. The type of restoration and the materials used are decided together with the patient, taking into account the dentist's recommendations, the patient's wishes, the clinical possibilities and the budget available. At Hevadent, we use digital impressions by intraoral scanning, an alternative to paste impressions, which records precisely the details needed to make prosthetic restorations. Based on this information, the dental technicians make the restorations in collaboration with the dentist, aiming for aesthetic and functional results suited to each patient's needs.
How long until the restoration is ready
How long a prosthetic restoration takes depends on its type, the number of teeth involved, the materials used and the try-in stages needed. In some cases, a temporary restoration can be made until the final restoration is fitted. Ask the dentist for the estimated length of the treatment, based on the specifics of your case.
Why is a try-in of the prosthetic restoration necessary
The try-in makes it possible to check how the restoration fits on the teeth, its contacts with the neighbouring teeth, the bite and the appearance. At this stage the necessary adjustments can be made for the restoration to blend in functionally and aesthetically. Depending on the complexity of the case, several try-ins may be needed before the final fitting.
What the look of the restoration depends on
The appearance of a prosthetic restoration depends on the materials used, the shape and shade of the teeth and the specifics of each patient. The shape and colour are chosen together with the patient, taking into account their wishes and the dentist's recommendations.
Can a broken denture be repaired
In many cases, yes. Whether it can be repaired depends on the type of denture and how badly it is damaged. Do not try to glue the denture at home, because general-purpose adhesives can contain irritating or toxic substances and are not meant for prolonged contact with the lining of the mouth. An improvised repair can also make a later repair harder. Keep all the pieces and bring them to the clinic. The dentist will assess whether the denture can be repaired or needs replacing.
Do I have to go to the laboratory myself
No. Communication with the dental laboratory is coordinated by the dentist. It is important to tell the dentist the shade you want, your preferences for the shape of the teeth and anything you want changed or were unhappy with in a previous restoration. These details should be discussed from the tooth preparation stage and, above all, during the try-ins of the prosthetic restoration, so that the necessary adjustments can be made before the final restoration is finished.
Can I choose the material myself
Yes. The material is chosen together with the dentist, taking into account the specifics of the case, the medical recommendations, your aesthetic preferences and your budget. Ask the dentist for the suitable options, with the advantages and limits of each, so that you can make an informed decision.
